Microsoft Developer Photo Metadata Policy
Metadata (file properties) for photo files can be stored using multiple metadata schemas, in different data formats and in different locations within a file. In Windows Vista™, the Microsoft® Windows® Shell provides a built-in property handler for photo files formats, such as JPEG, TIFF, and PNG, to simplify metadata retrieval.

TIFF Tag Reference (Aware Systems)
A reference on all known baseline, extended, and private TIFF tags. Every tag page offers a list of basic properties (such as code, name, LibTiff name and data type), as well as a short description.

RDF (Resources Description Framework)

A standard model for data interchange on the web. RDF extends the linking structure of the Web to use URIs to name the relationship between things as well as the two ends of the link (this is usually referred to as a “triple”). Using this simple model, it allows structured and semi-structured data to be mixed, exposed, and shared across different applications.
